Ludis’ passion for fine art led him on a journey of exploration—studying different mediums and techniques to discover the style that best expressed his natural talent. Along the way, he found that true mastery isn’t just about perfect technique, but about creating work that carries meaning for the viewer.
That’s why he chose oil painting as his voice. Through its depth and richness, Ludis creates pieces that speak beyond the brushstrokes—art that connects, resonates, and tells a story.

The Story Behind the Name
Ludis is more than a name—it’s a legacy. Ludis—the artistic pseudonym of Gilberto Marcano-Díaz, is a blend of Luis and Ludy, a heartfelt tribute to the two people who gave him everything: his father and mother.
“My mother was the first to recognize my artistic talent. She made sure I had the support to pursue it at a young age. My father? He walked beside me—literally. I still remember visiting art stores with him while I was in school, shopping for more sketchpads and materials. Those memories are sacred.” -Ludis.
From these roots grew a lifelong passion that evolved into a successful professional career in digital media, marketing, and entrepreneurship—leading to the creation of a thriving marketing agency and several other businesses.
Along the way, Gilberto has helped develop and grow numerous successful ventures. Today, he returns to his first love—fine art—bringing decades of experience, emotion, and discipline into every canvas under the name Ludis.
